    COVID-19 Immediate Temporary Suspension of Statewide Adult Day Health Care

    Please distribute immediately to:


    Administrators, Program Directors

    COVID-19 has been detected in multiple communities around New York State. As a result, this
    directive is being issued to direct all adult day health care programs to immediately suspend ALL
    ADULT DAY HEALTH CARE PROGRAM SERVICES until further notice.

    We recognize that unexpected changes in scheduling, staffing or temporary suspension of day


    program services all represent significant hardships for families and others who support their loved
    ones in their homes.

    Please immediately provide formal notification of your program’s temporary suspension of service
    to the required parties including, but not limited to, Registrants, Next of Kin, program staff,
    physicians, long-term care ombudsman and Medicaid managed LTC providers. The notification will
    serve to fulfill regulatory requirements of such temporary suspension of services.

    Please take all of the necessary steps to assist registrants in identifying and finding services that
    they may need to address their current needs and maintain record of such correspondence.

    Thank you for your ongoing support and cooperation in responding to COVID-19 concerns. Please
    forward confirmation of program closure along with any general questions or comments about this
    advisory to covidnuringhomeinfo@health.ny.gov.
